Project Overview
Partnered with CMoore Sound to develop a sonic direction for Subaru's full UX sound suite. Subaru’s deeply rooted identity is built around the outdoors, a sense of calm, and a Japanese heritage that values restraint and intention. The challenge was translating those qualities into sound, creating an audio experience that felt as grounded and purposeful as the brand itself.


Solution
We developed two distinct directions for exploration. The first leaned into Subaru's natural world positioning, drawing from the textures of the outdoors and the stillness of Japanese aesthetic traditions with each sound designed to feel organic and unobtrusive, enhancing the driving experience without demanding attention. The second took a more restrained, functional approach, prioritizing clarity and simplicity as a foundation. Together, the two directions gave Subaru a clear spectrum to consider: one expressive and nature-rooted, one clean and utilitarian.
